Pastor Derrick Golden

On life’s incredible journey, many seek after fame, fortune and one’s definitive purpose in life.  But for some, divine destiny and God’s ultimate purpose is clear.  From the age of nine, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Pastor Derrick Golden gave his life and his heart to Jesus Christ and answered the call to serve God and humanity.  Through the years, his call has matured; resulting in a profound passion to see people live balanced, sober and settled lives.

Pastor Derrick Golden is one of America’s new voices of faith, hope, change and accountability in Christian ministry.  His leadership and energy is contagious and his message is touching thousands of lives in North Texas.  His personality and deep concern for people attracts those from all walks of life.  Pastor Golden has served in ministry in various positions:  from cutting the church lawn, serving as Sunday School Superintendent at the age of twelve years old, singing in the Youth Choir, serving on the parking lot, teaching in Children's Church, to serving as the Men's Ministry Leader, Minister, life coach and church administrator.  Pastor Golden has experienced servant hood at all levels, all to the Glory of God.

Upon graduating, Northeast Senior High in 1987, he received an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Miami, where he played with some of the most famous Hall of Fame players of our day.  Though never a consistent starter, when he got in the game, his coaches always told him to go out there and make the BIG play, and he always did.  Pastor Golden says that he would never embellish his career as a Hurricane, however the player has now become the coach and he is dedicated to coaching others on how to make BIG plays in the Body of Christ, in their personal lives and in the lives of others.  

Pastor Golden  answered the call of God in August 2007,  becoming the founder of The New Covenant Fellowship Church in McKinney, TX.  Within the two short years, The NCFC has over 500 members.  Pastor Derrick has been married to Ilya Golden for 15 years; they attribute their marriage success to their personal motto, "whatever it takes!"  Pastor Derrick says that living without her is like breathing without air.  They are the parents of LeDerrianne, Maliek and Kyndal Golden.

Pastor Derrick’s commitment to God, his family and his community are undeniable.  He meets no stranger and he gives many hours mentoring and coaching others to live a better life.  His ability to communicate with  passion, sincerity and humor will not only inspire you, but will challenge you to Believe! 

Pastor Ilya Golden

Ilya Golden is a wife, mother and friend after God’s own heart. Pastor Ilya is the faithful companion of Pastor Derrick Golden and is co-founder of The New Covenant Fellowship Church of McKinney.

She’s creative and energetic, yet endearing and consumed with pleasing God. Among her many talents she is a gifted singer and songwriter. Her desire to see women overcome low self-esteem and issues of self-imposed fears is a paramount concern for her. Pastor Ilya believes that everyone is able to live an overcoming life.  "In one chapter of your life you could be the victim, but in the next chapter you could be victorious."

She serves alongside her husband, Pastor Derrick, in an enthusiastic and supportive role, which completes him but is uniquely her.
